Falling Off the Wagon

Hey friends! I just need to be real for a second. I know many of my readers are also fellow bloggers. With that in mind I just need to vent...

I love my blog and all it stands for. I have also really enjoyed blogging and being a part of the blogging community over the past several months. It's such a joy to be a part of. I'm sure you all have noticed my lack of posting, interacting and commenting/reading of your blogs. I have to say, it has nothing to do with my losing interest or having nothing to say. For awhile it was just busyness with everyday life and such. Now things have calmed down a bit but I have had such a difficult time actually sitting down and getting a post up. Have any of you experienced this? I miss blogging and all that goes along with it, but somehow I've gotten out of my routine. How do I get back on it? I would love any feedback you all might have for me!

Missing you all,

Have a question?? Formspring Me. I promise to answer!

  1. Sometimes you do need to take a little break which is okay! What helps me break out od a rut is to try somerthing on your blog you have never done before like a vlog or address an issue thats going on in the world right now. Stepping out of your box can help spark all kinds of creativity! :)

  2. Hi Krystle,
I know how you feel, I've gone through a short period of not blogging & also found it difficult to sit down or get inspired. However, I also try not to be too hard on myself -  Sometimes I just go for a walk, take pictures, or get inspired by reading other blogs, even if I don't comment, eventually I get excited & full of ideas.  Here's a flashback  by Joanne that may be inspiration: http://joannefaith.com/2011/03/12/blogger-life-balance/

  3. I think a lot of people go through this.  I'm sure that it will come back to you at some point.  Just give it time, and come back to it when you are ready. :)

  4. Totally! Being out of town for three weeks, trying to get back into the swing of things and being busy definitely took it's toll. But you know what? I tell myself that there's a) no rush, b) I can re-invent the blog if I need to. I really needed to take a good look at what was happening, trying to fit too much into every single day meant I was feeling like I was compromising the quality.

I've decided not to sweat it, if I can't post because I'm swamped, so be it. If I can't visit the sites I like as frequently as I want, that's just the way it is. I've recently gone down to only posting three times a week and I'll revisit that schedule if I need to. Quality over quantity. I want it to be heartfelt. It's not about numbers or anything else. Give yourself a break, darlin' and only do what feels do what feels good.

  5. Krystle- I feel like we're going through the same thing right now. I've been fairly busy lately, but even when I had time to write something, I just didn 't know what to do. Hopefully we will both get over it soon! I'm trying to make myself get up earlier and write more in the morning when I am most creative. We'll see if that helps!

  6. I think everyone has went through something like that.  For me the reality is that blogging helps me stay connected to the world outside of my VERY small community.  It also has helped me with so many other things such as given me more confidence...I'm less shy in person, I don't worry as much about what people think, and I truly am confident in my clothes.  If blogging has brought you more positives than negatives then I think that it's something worth trying to keep up, but if you're life feels much more incontrol when you're not worry about what to post/what to wear...then maybe blogging isn't the right thing to do.  If you truly miss it I'd say start slowly, and maybe redefine a "plan" or schedule....maybe don't post as often in a week, or just switch things up a bit...I'm sure if you love blogging you'll find your groove again!!  Good luck...I miss you too!

  7. people always say if blogging starts to feel like work you should stop. i don't think that's true. if you take blogging seriously, it is work but it should also be fun and rewarding. if it's not fun and rewarding that is when you need to take a step back. when you are ready to come back ease your way in. post one a week until you are able to get back into your regular routine.

  8. I missed you, I recently had a similar funk... just life kind of caught up to me and I fell out of my routine.  I think if you just start small again it will all come back, you just have to find your groove again.  It has taken me about 2 weeks to get back at it full force.  We all understand about life getting "in the way" of blogging... at least you are so busy you are enjoying life and living it :) missed your posts - I hope to see more of you soon!

  10. I hear you. Things do get crazy busy with life sometimes, and you have to handle that first. Coming back in can be crazy overwhelming. I took a break for a week once, and upon my return I thought I would never get through all the missed posts, and comments to return. You'll get through it. You just have to take some time, and do it. Love you, Krys!!

  12. First - I just ran into your blog today. Love it. I'm in my late 30s and have been looking for style bloggers around my age. Second - I fell off last week with my blog. It happens. I try to post every day. I blog about art and style. But sometimes, I'm just like "meh" lol. I'll need a dose of inspiration and then I'm back on it.
