Channeling the 70's

check out my shellac nails!!

THE OUTFIT:
embellished tank - ON
flared capris - f21 {gifted}
platforms - Dany by Jessica Simpson

Hey everyone! Today I am channeling the 1970's with my flare capris and platforms! I love these capris!! A friend of mine gave them to me back when we were in college. I am so glad too, because they are a great piece! No one else has them and they are so trendy! Don't you think? I can create so many different looks with them. Expect to see a lot of these babies over the next few months!

See how SUNNY it is today?? I am L-O-V-I-N-G it! Totally loving it! Sunshine makes me so happy! I think I just might lay out this afternoon! I still have the kids and we are having a pretty chill day. We are just enjoying the sun together. We were supposed to go to some basketball games that my goddaughter was playing in, but she's sick, unfortunately. So we are just hanging around in the sunny, gorgeous yard! Also, the Portland Trailblazers are playing inGame 4 against the Dallas Mavericks today. Another home game and I am really hoping we win!! Ahhh, we have to win!! I'm so excited to watch it!

In other news, have any of you tried Shellac? My godkids' mom, Sabrina, has a salon in her house, and although she only does hair, she is able to buy all of the supplies at cost from the supply store. The other night one of the girls did mine for me. I was a little nervous about doing them in white. I've never painted my nails this color, but I've been wanting to try it. So we did the first coat in white, and put a clear pink on top, which toned the white down just a bit. I think they turned out really good!

The cool thing about it is, it only took about 30 minutes and they are literally dry by the time you're finished painting them! It's so cool, because you don't have to worry about smearing them on anything! I think that's my favorite part about it. I'm super clumsy so I always end up smearing my brand new manicure on something no matter how careful I am. Shellac was made for me! Also, I hear it's easier to remove than acrylic, and it doesn't leave your nails thin and brittle once you take it off. Double win in my book!

Have you tried shellac? Do you want to try it?
Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

  1. Very cute look! Those shoes are insanely awesome. Love sunshine, wish it'd stick around the East coast, it's very rainy today- and your mails look awesome! I love seeing people's nail work (even though I stopped using nail polish last summer).

  3. Lovin' your dany's, girl!! You look gorgeous!!!

    I have had a shellac manicure before. They are pretty spiffy! Mine only lasted about 8 or 9 days, unfortunately, because I work with my hands a lot. :(

  5. Krystie- you rock the gauchos! Yes, that's what I call "flare capris" and you make it look so good in the sunshine. Love how you kept it simple so the line of the outfit- the star being the flare of the pant leg gets to shine. The color of the denim is perfect, as in that delicious candy-butt of your, yeah I said it- candy butt. That fierce uh, back view should give me extra incentive to walk around the block an extra round. LOVELY!
