Fit Tuesday ~ Treats!!

Be Fit Tuesday is finally here!! YAY!!

I'm sooo glad you're joining me! Today I want to talk about FOOD! Yummy!

Do you ever have cravings? Do you have any favorite treats that maybe aren't so "healthy?" Well, I know there are many different views on how to handle cravings, but I am going to tell you my philosophy on them. I don't deprive myself often. I am a dark chocolate lover! I mean, for real, I LOVE ME SOME DARK CHOCOLATE {here I am speaking of the edible form, not men... maybe save that for another day.. ha, ha}! I actually eat some almost daily. However, I don't eat a ton of it. If I am craving some I will have a couple of squares during work or in the evening. It's all about moderation. If you love ice cream, or chocolate or French fries... whatever your "junk food" of choice is, go ahead and dig in, but just a little! I think when you constantly deprive yourself of something you really love, you crave it more and then eat too much when you finally break down. So next time that Ben & Jerry's is calling your name, put half a scoop in a little cup and have a few bites.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that you shouldn't have full servings of your favorite treats. I absolutely go for a candy bar sometimes, but in general, rather than indulging to the fullest and risking feeling guilty for it or ruining the hard workout you just did, have a little and enjoy it a LOT!

What's your favorite indulgence?
What do you think about my philosophy on treats?

let's hear it,

  1. I agree completely! It's definitely better to eat a little than to have cravings all the time! I don't think I could go without dark chocolate, either! It's also my favorite!

  2. I agree - dark chocolate is a daily MUST for me, too. But just a little piece (or two), and I eat it slowly so it's not over too soon. And I buy high-quality stuff so that I get the maximum enjoyment out of each little bite.

And we order pizza about once a year. We do totally binge on that pizza, but it's only once a year. :-D

Couldn't agree more! I am a french fry fanatic. I am gulity of depriving myself until I break down and find myself with an XL McDonald's tub of fries in my lap. LOL!

Seriously, I have to force myself to 1) make my own fries at home so I can bake them instead of frying, and 2) only eat small portions no more than once a week

    Great post, Krystle!

  4. HAHAHA!! You're so cute! Definitely try to get those fries I tweeted you. I love em as well and I eat them a few times a week. You can just take a handful and throw em in the oven! So easy and quick! Thanks for the compliment! :)

  5. Is it? I love it! I think most women like some form of chocolate. It's good for the soul in my opinion! :)

  6. Hi totally about indulging in small portion I actually mention that in one of my post http://goodhealthdiva.blogspot.com/2011/01/very-simple-weight-loss-tips-to-get-you.html
I believe in savouring food and eating too much can actually rob you of the pleasure of the experience especially if one end up with an indigestion or guilt for have eaten more than necessary!
It's such a treat to meet you through blogging!

  7. It's great to meet you, too!! Sorry, I am just now seeing this comment. I will definitely come check out your link. :)
