FBFF- Finding the Balance

Katy over at ModlyChic, is the founder of Fashion/Beauty Friend Friday {FBFF}. Each week, Katy puts some thought provoking questions together and emails them to us. On Friday we all post our responses. It's s a fun, diverse and creative blog community! If you're interested in being a part of this fabulous group, head over to Katy's FBFF page for details!

"Finding the balance- I think this is one of the hardest things for us as bloggers to deal with. How do you do it all and still live, work and play as you should?" ~Katy

1. When it comes to prioritizing your life, in what place does blogging fall?
My blog is a high priority these days. My faith, my family and friends and of course, my health and my job, all come before the blog. But since I am not married and I don't have children, at this point in my life, I can spend quite a bit of time on it in my free time.

2. We all wish we had more free time to dedicate to blogging and all it entails. What are your tricks for taking advantage of the time you do have to be as productive as possible?
Of course, I do not have time every day to sit down and dedicate hours on end to post. But on the days I do have a long chunk of time, I try to use it to my advantage. I spend that time visiting other blogs and leaving comments. I also prepost. Obviously outfits cannot be preposted as easily, but my Be Fit posts take quite a bit of time, so I dedicate my extra time researching and composing those. I strongly recommend using the option to schedule posts when you know you have a busy week coming up!

3. Have you discovered any short-cuts that makes blogging easier or more time efficient?
Like I said before, using longer time periods when available to crank out a couple of extra posts for a busy week is the way to go! Also, my phone is helpful! I can do just about anything "blog related" on it.

4. Do you have an editorial calendar or something similar that helps you plan ahead?
I actually don't right now. But recently I have started making notes in my Blackberry with subjects that I think of on the fly.

5. If time wasn’t an issue what you would be doing on your blog/for your blog that you aren’t doing now?
I don't know if this is a time issue other than an issue of yours truly being a chicken, but I would take outfit photos out in public in better scenery if I had more "time."

What would YOU be doing on your blog if time wasn't an issue??

Happy Friday!!

  3. Blogging is pretty high on my list too. As soon as I leave this comment I'm goign to go check out what Be Fit posts are and look at them. That interests me a lot if it is what I'm guessing.

  4. Girl, you should take outfit photos wherever you want! If people look at me strangely, I give 'em the eye and say, "What? I'm working on a photography project!" And that's that. :) It's your life and your blog- do what you love! If you love public outdoor photos, I say go for it. The first week or two were a bit uneasy for me, but since then, it feels natural!

This is such a fun idea!
It can certainly be hard to make time for blogging. If it wasn't for school work, I know I'd be posting a lot more these days!

Hope you have a nice weekend!

  6. I am exactly the same on the photos thing. I tell myself I take my outfit photos in doors because I don't have time. Truth is I would be embarrised if people saw me taking photos of myself
