Shopping List

Over the last couple of weeks I have gotten my closet cleaned out. I have several bags in my trunk; some for Goodwill and some to sell to consignment shops. Now that everything is cleaned out, I have a clear idea of what I need. Here's The List:

1. Booties:
I am thinking black. I know I could go for bargain brands, like something from H&M or f21 because I have seen some cute ones, but honestly, I am kind of a shoe snob. You know, we all have those things that we would prefer to splurge on? Well, for me it's shoes and {designer} jeans. Ok, back to the booties... here are some examples of what I'm interested in:
Badgley Mischka 'Olaf' Bootie
these are definitely a little more fancy but they caught my eye and I LOVE.
Steve Madden 'Carlsen' BootieElizabeth & James 'Rinna' BootieTrouvé 'Lexi' Ankle Boot
via
*these three pairs are a bit more classic and versatile... I am always drawn to more glamour though... be practical I tell myself!!

2. Dressy shorts:
I actually saw some very cute tweed ones at Express right before Christmas. It was when I was out shopping for my dress, though, so I actually succeeded at keeping myself on task, and didn't try them on or buy them! Yay for me! This is actually a different kind of piece for me to have on a shopping list. Historically, I haven't been into wearing shorts at all! I have always thought shorts make my thighs look big. I don't know what I was thinking, as I have always been lean. However, I don't really have hips, but I do have a little booty, so it's difficult to get a good fit. Last summer was my first summer wearing actual shorts! Crazy, right? Usually during the summer I can be found in {sun}dresses, skirts, and capris. The only time I would wear shorts would be for running, lounging and working out. Anyway, I have seen some looks that I want to copy in magazines. I am thinking I will want tweed, similar to these:

2 1/2" BELTED TWEED SHORTS2 1/2" HERRINGBONE SHORTS WITH LACE

3. Black Blazer:
I know what you're thinking how could she not have this item already?? Well, for one, I have an indigo denim one from The Gap that I bought on sale nearly 3 years ago, and just started wearing it last year. So glad I didn't get rid of it! So, I do have a blazer. But the reason I want black kind of speaks for itself. It's really a basic piece that I would be able to create so many new looks with!

4. Black pumps:
I LOVE the pair I have. They are patent leather, by Jessica Simpson. They have 3.5 inch heels and they are sexy and stylish and comfortable! Like I said, I LOVE them! But I think I need some more classic ones. I'm thinking regular leather and a round, rather than pointed toe. Something more toned down and casual. Here are some I like:
Steve Madden 'Partyy' Pump
I would get them in black

5. Over the Knee Boots:
Ugh, so I want some of these soooo badly! They are so me that it's actually a little very odd I don't already own some. I need to really save though. Like I said, I like nice shoes, so I would really prefer them to be leather rather than synthetic. Normally this would be without question, but with this particular style, I might make an exception. I tried some on at Aldo Shoes over the weekend and they were to die for! They were also on sale {$74}, but they are synthetic. The reason I might make an exception is, the weather where I live is always rainy! I also know I will want to wear them a lot. I don't know what I will decide. Well, actually I think I am going to decide to get these... stay tuned.

the link to the ones I want {synthetic} are here, I couldn't get the pic to post.

6. Tops:
To be more specific, I would like more tunic, longer tops. I enjoy dressing them up with leggings, boots and accessories.

Any of these items you own that you recommend??
Any tips??

  5. I like your list.

I'm trimming my shopping this year to only sixteen items of clothing or accessories. I just posted the second outfit for the I6L styling challenge.

So excited! What do you think?

  6. Hello! I realize this is sort of off-topic however I had to ask.

Does building a well-established website such as yours take a massive
amount work? I'm brand new to operating a blog however I do write in my journal on a daily basis.
I'd like to start a blog so I can share my own experience and thoughts online.
Please let me know if you have any kind of recommendations or tips for new aspiring bloggers.

    Thankyou!
